Amy & Colby's Wedding - The Raven Golf Club - Phoenix

In late October, I had the pleasure of photographing Amy and Colby's wedding at The Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona. While Amy had worked with Colby's mother for sometime at a local animal hospital, it wasn't until an after-work lunch and movie outing that Amy met Colby. The rest, as they say, is history. On Christmas Eve 2013, Amy woke up to a surprise from Colby; “Marry Me?” had been scrawled in shaving cream on their bathroom mirror and a ring was sitting happily on the counter. Of course, Amy said yes. One year later, they were busy getting ready for their big day.

The weather was perfect as Amy and her bridesmaids got up early for their hair and makeup services. Amy had chosen a long, flowing white gown as her wedding dress with straps that criss-crossed one another at the back and featured a beautiful button up detail at the back. Her hair was adorned with a crystal tiara, and she wore a simple necklace with a blue stone that complimented her bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaids certainly brought a pop of color with their teal-colored dresses, and the groomsmen wore all black suits and bow-ties with their boutonnieres matching the ladies dresses perfectly in color.

The ceremony was a simplistic outdoor wedding at a golf course with about a hundred people in attendance. Her two brothers had a special part during the ceremony, one of them was in the string quartet and one was acted as the officiant for the lovely day.  The following reception brought family and friends together for a feast at an indoor reception where an elegantly styled Zelda wedding cake was on display.

There were lots of lovely handmade items scattered about during the day, too, including the bridesmaids bright pink bouquets, the centerpieces, the cake topper, and the guest book signing table. Everywhere that attendees looked, they were reminded of Amy and Colby in every way.

To finalize the evening, the wedding party and lit up some sparklers to write out words like “love” next to the couple as we got the last photos of the night.
