My Favorite Podcasts
Over the past 2 years, I have become obsessed with podcasts. Podcasts are wonderfully portable, which makes it easy to become addicted. I listen to them while making my kids' school lunches, while getting ready for the day and during long car rides. There are so many wonderful podcasts out there, I'd like to share just a few of my favorites.
NPR Hourly News Summary
I start each morning by listening this News Summary, which is updated hourly. These podcasts are only 5 minutes long so it gives me a brief overview of what is going on in the world.
The Goal Digger Podcast - Hosted by: Jenna Kutcher
I discovered Jenna Kutcher's podcast while attending The United Conference held in Arizona in October 2016. Jenna gives great advice to photographers and truly any small business could benefit from listening. She speaks from the heart and shares her personal struggles as well as inspiring business entrepreneurs.
How I Built This - Hosted by: Guy Raz
While How I Built This is not geared towards photographers, it's incredibly inspiring. Each episode includes a behind the scenes stories from some of the most amazing entrepreneurs. I find myself more connected to these big businesses after learning about them. Kate Spade who met her husband and business partner while at school in Arizona (where I live), Lyft; one of the founders went to University of California, Santa Barbara (where I'm from) and Mark Cuban, who I wasn't sure I liked him but, gosh - what a smart man. At the end of each episode they end with a story of a small, startup business doing amazing things.
Snap Judgment - Glynn Washington
Glynn begins each episode with a story to tie in the podcast's theme. Some of my recent favorites are: Backstory, Dirty Work and One In A Million. His powerful voice along with musical beats creates a powerful podcast. This podcast is not business related but, it's super entertaining.
