Yesenia & Ryan's Engagement Photos - Rocky Point Photographer
Every photographer has their own idea of an ideal location to shoot wedding or engagement photos and for me, one of my favorite places is Rocky Point. Named Puerto Penasco in Spanish, it is about 50 miles from the US border of Arizona and is an incredibly beautiful and enchanting place. Yesenia & Ryan are getting married in Rocky Point but, unfortunately, I'm already booked for their date so I'm writing this post in hope that another Rocky Point Wedding Couple may contact me! What makes Rocky Point such a special place in my heart is that my family loves to vacation there and while it isn't very far from home, it still feels like something brand new and special every time we go. There are all kinds of activities that can be done: a perfect location for a destination wedding. In the days leading up to the wedding you can swim, go horseback riding, indulge in all kinds of great seafood and of course, sip a couple margaritas as well.
If you dream of having photos taken while the tide rolls out exposing tidal pools filled with beautiful sea life ranging from crabs to starfish and all kinds of other marine life, Rocky Point is for you. The land here is mostly flat, but it does offer some unique wonders as well. There is a volcanic zone called Sierra El Pinacate that has over 50 miles of gorgeous beaches, and Sonoyta, a mountainous range. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even take an ATV on the sand dunes of Altar Desert.
With ocean views, one of the driest deserts in the world and a mountainous range highlighting the otherwise flat coastline, Rocky Point is a stunning place where you feel feel welcome, relaxed, and rejuvenated. It is the perfect place for a wedding, and one day I hope to be lucky enough to take photos of a beautiful couple there. So please reach out to me if you are getting married in Rocky Point. I would love to capture your beautiful wedding while enjoying a couple days in the sun.
All my best, Anna
